Why did you start your homeschooling blog?
I’ve written a memoir on our learning adventures through the years, and wanted to share some of these stories in an interactive format before publishing the manuscript.
Having homeschooled for nearly three decades, I’m learned quite a few lessons myself, which I hope will inspire my readers.
What do you cover in your homeschooling blog?
In a nutshell, I blog about: life learning, life’s lessons, and life’s blessings. I write about majoring in the majors; heart to heart discussions with other homeschool moms; my own mother’s influence on me; how to keep children from losing a sense of wonder; how to see the big picture, how to walk in faith, hope, and love; fragments of my children’s journey through life; the uniqueness of all children; the history of homeschooling in our state and how we pioneered the movement; the miracle of life, and much more. I post weekly.
Advice
- I write for fellow homeschoolers, yes; but since I don’t wish to alienate those who haven’t chosen this path, I try to write about life learning with a more general appeal.
- My advice to other bloggers is to just capture your best memories
- Share your stories from the heart
- Let your lights shine so that others may be drawn to your lifestyles of freedom, peace, and joy.
