I'm always on the lookout for state activity books that help children to explore their state in a fun and entertaining way. Jane Petrlik Smolik has accomplished this in her state puzzle book series. With over 75 puzzles in each book, students learn interesting facts and tidbits while solving a variety of puzzles and actvities. Students explore major cities and attractions. They learn map skills and read about famous people from the area. They learn about local cuisine, natural wonders, legends and much more. Only four states are available at this time, but I look forward to more being published soon.
