Vision/Purpose:

Our mission is to provide enrichment times, social opportunities, and wholesome, affordable activities for students, as well as information, support, and encouragement to home educating parents in Escambia County, Alabama, and the surrounding areas.

Religious Affiliation:

Christian
As believers in Christ we recognize the common beliefs of
1) one God eternal, existent in three: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
2) the atoning sacrifice of Christ as Lord and Savior,
3) the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, and
4) the Bible as the authority for right and holy living.

Composition:

Any family who agrees with the purpose and the beliefs as stated above (or feels comfortable with those who do) may become members by completing an application form and paying the annual dues.

Membership Dues:

Dues are paid once a year by the date set by Leadership or upon joining the organization. The amount to be paid each year is determined by the Leadership Committee. (Current dues are $30 per year.)

Membership Benefits:

HK&C provides opportunities for our children to establish friendships with others in a safe environment. We make available group activities, as well as opportunities to teach a spirit of cooperation and community service.
We have Mom support time (usually a dinner out and a breakfast meeting). We also have park days, open house, P.E. classes, parties and projects.

Introduction/Welcome Message:

Homeschooled Kids & Co. is a local (Atmore) Christian based support group for home educators which has grown over the past ten years to include members from Escambia counties Alabama and Florida as well as Baldwin County, AL.

Our history: Our group was formed in the 1990's when local families, who were homeschooling, decided to come together for support and fellowship.

In 2000 the group was officially named Homeschooled Kids & Co. Coordinated by volunteer members, HK&C has activities consisting of moms' meetings, field trips, extra-curricular group classes, organized P.E., parties and service projects.

We currently have forty-nine families enrolled representing approximately 140 students grades K-4 through twelve. Families pay a yearly membership fee ($30 per family) which entitles their children to participate in HK&C activities.
