Thrifty Thursday: Summer Reading Programs for Kids
Thursday June 18, 2009
Each summer for the past 11 years I've hosted the About.com Homeschooling Summer Reading Club. Your children can use the same reading time for other reading programs at your local library's summer reading program and/or some of these programs. I've found that summer reading incentives can turn a child into an avid reader which can last a lifetime. So beat the heat with a good book and read the summer away.

As a kid, I absolutely loved the summer reading program at my local library. There’s no better way to encourage kids to read during the summer.
