Springing Ahead to Summer! - 28 Days Left
Our school year continues to wind down with only 28 days left! As we come to a close, even with my plan, I feel like there is not enough time to do everything I'd like. There's always one more art project or science experiment that I wish I had time to get to. I was looking at my schedule the other day and even on a day that we are at home there is little time to just enjoy "life." What I need to remember is that homeschooling and raising 5 children is my life! I need to find joy in the little things and understand that I'll probably never complete everything on my list for the day.
I've been doing some spring cleaning and I've noticed a huge difference in our home. We don't need to be cleaning up as much because everything has a place and can be quickly put back there. The other huge difference has been the Roomba vacuum cleaner that my mom bought me for my birthday. Yay for moms! It works great, I don't have to do the work and having a clean floor brings so much peace to everyone. Maybe I'll do a post on my new friend the Roomba. :)
As is tradition, here is our plan for this week:
Family Newsletter - I'll have them brainstorm together and then write different articles for a little family newsletter to give to friends and relatives. Depending on how it goes, we just might continue this, I'll keep you posted!
Alphabetizing Sheets - We'll keep working on these, the kids seem to understand how to do them just fine.
Map Work - We're learning about Straits this week. We'll use these geography printables.
Eclipses - I found a website online that the kids will work through
Art - We're working on drawing this week. I am going to use Learn to See Learn to Draw by Judith Albright. I'll let you know how I like it.
So that is this weeks work, I'm having a little bit of a hard time fitting that in with the math, language, spelling and handwriting work we already do. I am trying to make these subjects a lighter load, but some of it just needs to be done. We'll just keep working along at a steady pace and see where we are in 28 days!
