It will be a year old in April '10
Why did you start your homeschooling blog?
It was started to let family that lived out of state know what was happening in our neck of the woods. Then it kinda spiraled to giving information to families that would like to homeschool and unschool. It's fun and enlightening to see how families "do unschooling". It's a great way to get ideas.
What do you cover in your homeschooling blog?
I talk a lot about our everyday life and how we like to learn. Different places we go and books we like to read. I also talk about encounters we have with other families those that either homeschool or public school their children.
I post just about everyday if something interesting is going on. Or just my thoughts on how I'm feeling about a certain situation my children are going through. Or if I'm going through something. There are a lot of families that are going through similar things and it helps to get their input.
Advice
- First keep it simple.
- Write about what you know.
- Write about what you don't know.
- Ask questions you will get a lot of help and answers. There are some great homeschooling families out their with inspiring blogs. You will end up making some really good friends.
- Remember this is supposed to be a fun thing. If it starts to feel like work it won't be fun any more.
- Don't let blogging take away time from your family. The key is to keep a balance.
