Supplies needed:
- Tempura Paints: brown, red, orange, blue, green, yellow, black
- Paint brushes (It's easiest to have a brush for each color)
- Sheet of unlined paper or construction paper
- Smock or shirt to protect clothing
Paint the child's hand with the paint: Liberally paint the palm brown and the thumb red. Paint each finger a different color: orange, blue, green and yellow.
Place the child's hand on the paper. Gently roll the fingers from side to side to make the turkey feathers.
Carefully lift the child's hand from the paper.
Using a paint brush and black paint, add legs to the turkey.
Paint an orange beak on the turkey and add an eye. (A wiggly eye could be used if you have one on hand.)
Allow to dry. While waiting for the paint to dry, do some of the Thanksgiving Printable Worksheets and Coloring pages.
Finished project can be displayed on the refrigerator or used to make a Thanksgiving card for a family member or friend.
Be sure to put a name and date on the project so you'll be able to identify the artist in later years.
Happy Thanksgiving!
