I get up around 8:00 and lie around for awhile, deciding whether or not I REALLY want to start my day. I finally give in and...
around 9:00, get the kids breakfast. Then I start the dishes and laundry. I make the beds.
About 10:00 I start school with my oldest (7, boy, starting 2nd grade, ADHD-unmedicated, learning disabilities). We take care of all the reading aloud (both for me AND him), and I tell him what has to be finished by the end of the day. We're usually finished with that part by 11:00.
At 11:00 (or somewhere around there) I go do some more housework. I make a quick run through the entire house, cleaning all the BIG messes, and just "straightening up." Then I sit down and check my email, play online, etc.
At 12:00, my DH comes home for lunch. I don't even ATTEMPT to do anything constructive while he's here.
At 1:00, I start getting the kids' lunch ready.
At 2:00, they're finished eating, and the oldest starts his afternoon work. (The worksheets, workbook pages, etc. , that we didn't get finished that morning.)
At 3:00, my youngest (girl, just turned 3 yesterday, gifted, kindergarten) starts her "school day." I read the lessons to her and get her started on a few worksheets. Or, if it's a project, we both start on it.
Around 4:00, I start on my middle child (girl, age 5, mild mental retardation, autism, somewhere between Kindergarten and 1st grade). We practice counting, sight-reading, and writing her name. Then we do "therapy." We walk around the house with me modeling sentences she could say about various things we see.
We're usually finished by 6:00, when I finally start dinner.
The kids eat around 7:00.
They take baths around 8:00. They take turns with baths--the boy takes a bath one night, the girls take a bath the next night.
Sometime between 8:30 and 9:00 the two oldest go to bed. (Sometimes, lol).
DH gets home sometime between 9:00 and 10:00. (He works 2 jobs so that I can stay home and do my duty with my children.)
The adults eat whenever he gets home. Then I take a bath (if I'm lucky.) We watch TV, and the adults and our 3 year old go to bed around 11:00.
Then it starts all over again.
Hope this helps someone set up (or not set up) their schedule (or lack there of)!! : )
~ Denise
