Meet USA Olympic Hopeful Athletes

2008 Beijing-bound Athletes

I've had the opportunity to interview some of the 2008 Beijing-bound Athletes that have been homeschooled. It will be exciting to learn about them and then follow them to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

David Boudia - Diver

David Boudia was born in Abilene, Texas, on April 24, 1989. He has two sisters, Shaila and Shauni. He's been diving since 2000 and trains about 30 hours per week. Find out how homeschooling has helped him achieve his goals.

Ariel Rittenhouse - USA Diving

Ariel comes from an Olympic background. Her mother, Sharon, is a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame. She won a silver medal in the 1964 Olympics in the 400 IM, held nine world records and won gold at the 1963 Pan Am Games. Ariel’s uncle Mike Finneran, Sharon’s brother, was a diver in the 1972 Olympic Games, and her grandmother, Carolyn Finneran, was a team manager for the 1976 Olympic swim team.

Amber Trani - USA Gymnast

Amber Trani was born on August 4, 1990 to parents Glenn and Paula. Her father owns a construction company and her mother coaches gymnastics. Her younger sister is Melissa. Amber began gymnastics at the young age of 2. Having a lot of energy as a toddler, her parents found gymnastics to be a great way to use that energy.
