Reconsider Uses of Existing Pieces

A lot of families own a hutch filled with china or other collectibles. If your lifestyle is not condusive to fine china and linens, and you don't mind putting the "nicer stuff" away, you may want to consider using hutches for displaying kids' sculptures, masterpieces, or collections. (This is an especially good idea if you hate dusting those collectibles and haven't used your china since the kids were born.) Use the cabinets in the hutch for storing arts & crafts materials, homeschooling newsletters/publications, or materials you've collected for future use.
