After the trip, we discussed the different things we saw and learned about. This reinforces what they learn and gives them the opportunity to ask any questions they still had. As a follow-up, the older kids will write about the trip in their nature journal
Your nature center will be different from ours. Find out ahead of time what they have available so you can be prepared. Ours had poison oak, so we were aware of that and taught the kids about it. We also have a child with allergies to wood and many other things in nature, so we were prepared with Benedryl and we did need it.
