Learning Language Arts Through Literature is a complete language arts program for first grade through high school. Using an integrated approach to learning, students learn the skills appropriate for each grade level in the context of real literature.

1. The Blue Book Complete Program

The Blue Book begins with a review of the letters, so would also work well with Kindergarten. The phonics instruction uses the "Successful Reading for Beginners" series moving into reading stories right away. The first grade reading program includes a Teacher Book, a Student Activity Book, 28 readers, and a materials packet, all packaged in a convenient, attractive full-color box. (1st grade skills)

2. The Red Book

The Red Book includes instructions and activities for phonics, reading skills, grammar, creative writing, and higher-order thinking skills. Spelling lessons include spelling lists, word puzzles, and spelling tips. Teacher's Edition also available. (2nd grade skills)

3. The Yellow Book

4. The Orange Book

The Orange Book features 4 book studies: The Boxcar Children; The Wright Brothers; Benjamin Franklin; and The Sign of the Beaver. 5. The Purple Book

6. The Tan Book

Information has been interwoven into the lessons so that the student becomes familiar with famous American authors. (High School skills)
