January 20th is Penguin Awareness Day. Penguins are short-legged, flightless birds of cold southern hemisphere, especially Antarctica. Penguins have webbed feet and wings modified as flippers. The largest species of penguins is the Emperor Penguin, standing about 3 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 75 pounds. The smallest species is the Little Blue Penguin, standing about 16 inches tall and weighing a little over 2 pounds.
