Try this recipe for South Carolina Apple Crisp...yummy!
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- # 4 Large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 3/4 cup, plus 1 Tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1 cup, plus 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup butter (cut into 1" pieces)
Preparation:
- Toss together: Apples, 1 Tbsp flour and 1 Tbsp sugar in a large bowl. Place mixture in in a greased 9" x 9" pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
- Sift 1/2 cup sugar; sift 3/4 cup flour; combine the two.
- Cut in butter, one piece at a time to create a crumbly mixture.
- Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.
