My neighbor, Grace, approached me and offered to do a weekly trash service for me. She takes my trash cans out to the curb in the morning on trash day, and brings them in after they're emptied. I pay her $5 a month.

She is very reliable and does a good job. Every month, on the 1st trash day of the month, she stops by to collect her $5. I really appreciate the service she provides and think it's a great idea, especially if you have elderly neighbors.

Update: Grace has been handling my trash cans for 4 years now, without fail. I've raised her $5 each year, bringing her up to $20 a month. I'm no longer her only customer, she has several other customers now. It's a nice little business for her.
