On March 7, 1933, Charles Darrow created and trademarked the game Monopoly. He marketed it himself, originally making each game by hand with the help of his wife and son. When they could no longer keep up with demand, they had the games printed. Parker Brothers bought the rights to the game, helped Darrow get a patent, and purchased his inventory.

On March 8, 1972, the Hacky Sack was born when Mike Marshall was kicking around a handmade bean bag. He was joined by his friend, John Stalberger. The two called the game “Hackin’ the Sack” and later changed it to “Hacky Sack.”

Players stand in a circle and pass the Hacky Sack around, keeping it off the ground without using their hands. How long can you keep the Hacky Sack going?
