Franklin D. Roosevelt's Birthday
Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States. Franklin Roosevelt was the only President to serve 4 terms. Roosevelt led the nation during World War II and continued to address the nation with his famous "fireside chats." Franklin D. Roosevelt died in office on April 12, 1945.

Improved Cash Register Patented
James Ritty and John Birch of Dayton, Ohio, received a patent for an improved cash register which included the bell sound.

National Croissant Day
January 30th is National Croissant Day. A croissant is a buttery, flaky crescent-shaped roll. Croissants can be served alone, along side a meal and even cut to make sandwiches.
