Boy Scouts Day
The Boy Scouts of America was founded on February 8, 1910. An outdoor field manual, Scouting for Boys, was published by Robert Baden-Powell on January 24, 1908. This was the beginning of the Boy Scouts, an international movement with the goal of teaching good citizenship to boys.
Radio Installed in White House
On February 8, 1922, President Warren G. Harding had a radio installed in the White House. At the time, radio was the hottest technology out there. In the 1920s and 30s, people gathered around their radios to listen to programs or the latest news. In 1933, President Roosevelt delivered regular updates to the American public known as "fireside chats."

Kite Flying Day
