Bill of Rights Day
December 15th is Bill of Rights Day. On December 15, 1791, ten amendments were added to the Constitution of the United States. These amendments guarantee certain freedoms and rights and are known as the "Bill of Rights." New Jersey was the first state to ratify the Bill of Rights.

1832 - Alexandre Gustave Eiffel's Birthday
The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron tower 324 meters high that was constructed in Paris in 1889. For many years it was the tallest man-made structure. French engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel designed and constructed the tower. It was built for the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair. The Eiffel Tower was inaugurated on March 31, 1889 and opened on May 6, 1889. Eiffel had a permit for the tower to stand for 20 years. It was supposed to be taken down in 1909, but because it was valuable for communication purposes, the city allowed it to stand.

Charles Duryea's Birthday
Bicycle makers Charles and Frank Duryea built the Duryea Motor Wagon. “Ladies Phaeton” was the first successful gas-engine vehicle built in the United States. It was first demonstrated in Chicopee, Massachusetts, on September 21, 1893. Frank won The Chicago Times Herald Race driving their 2nd Duryea vehicle in 1895. One of their early cars was involved in the first auto accident.
