by Constanze:
A turkey centerpiece
All covered in lace.
With flowers encircling
And colors vibrant of
pink, brown, and green.
It's made of ice
and the size of a chair.
The turkey centerpiece
talks to me.
It tells me funny things.
Like how the food tastes horrid
And how grandpa's teeth fell out.
The centerpiece sings to me
Of pilgrims, Indians, and corn.
My centerpiece is named George.
He likes to play golf in the snow.
George wishes he had a coat and scarf
because he is frozen to the bone.George, the centerpiece, is my best friend until he starts to melt.
We laugh, we sing, and stir up all kinds of trouble.
I'll love him always until he becomes a puddle.Next Poem ~ Previous PoemSubmit Your Poetry
