The Exposure

By Beverly Hernandez, About.com

by Kirstin:

I heard a sound,
There, I heard it again ...
Sitting up, I looked at my clock,
Midnight, I had to know ...

I had to be silent,
My sisters would want to follow ...
I tiptoed to the door,
Peeking out, I saw nothing ...

I crept out the door and down the stairs,
I was cautious of number six (the squeaky one) ...
Walking throught he family room,
I carefully edge to the living room ...

Slowly I peeked around the corner,
Not knowing what to expect ...
I gasped, couldn't believe it,
Not believing my eyes, I didn't trust what I saw ...

There was my dad,
Putting presents under the tree ...
Turning around,
He saw me and went still ...

We just looked at one another,
Neither one knew what to say ...
Finally, "Honey what are you doing up?",
"Just checking to see if my suspicions were true" ...
