Harry S. Truman (May 8, 1884 – December 26, 1972) was the 33rd President of the United States. Truman was never informed of the atomic bomb or the difficulties with Russia until he was president. He ordered the dropping of 2 atomic bombs on Japan resulting in their surrender. He witnessed the signing of the charter of the United Nations. Truman introduced the "Fair Deal". The Truman doctrine, The Marshall Plan, and The North Atlantic Treaty Organization formed. Truman had to send troops to Korea, but no treaty was signed during his presidency.
