Dads and Homeschooling

From the Homeschooling Forum - Julie

By , About.com Guide

DH and DS do Science & Bible together as their "guy time" on evenings or weekends. It's very important to both of them. At lunch (DH comes home) and dinner, I have DS talk to Dad about what he learned that day. DS is always excited to show him his latest art, history, or science project, or his composition of the day, or teach him something from music, etc.

Many HS moms I know have a "dad" folder and the dads look at the child/ren's work together with each child once an evening or once a week.

My DH wan't real involved at first, but he knows how important it is so even though he works 60+ hours a week, he makes time for it.
