Dads and Homeschooling

Well for my husband (he is my daughter's stepdad) he tells me stuff like that too. But on his days off or sometimes when he gets home in the evening I do things like say "Boy I've had a busy day. WIll you do me a favor and go over these things with her? Here is what we are doing. I need to take a long hot bath" or catch up on bills, cleaning, phone calls whatever excuse you can use. Or when you have to go run errands and he is home say something like the kids need him to help them study.

When my husband gets home from work and asks me about my day I give him a condensed version of what we did for school that day and how she did and tell him her grades she's made rencently. I always ask him to acompany me to the store to buy things for projects and ask his advice on something for school. I have found a man can hardly keep himself from giving advice if you make him think you really need it. On his days off I ask him to go on little field trips with us. As for her dad he is less intrested and that is easy since when she goes to his house I simply say "Here are her books and she needs to do such and such for homework before she gets back home on Sunday" He normally rolls his eyes but I just tell him he does'nt want to be reponsible for her getting an F LOL and to make sure the work is done or she will have to stay home to complete it. I know the part about her real dad isn't what you meant but maybe it will help someome else:)
