Goldfish in their Bowls

Math Game

By Beverly Hernandez, About.com

Goldfish in their Bowls is a fun game for kids to play and goes well with a study of fish or Dr. Seuss or other related topics.

Materials:

  • Fish bowl - you can use paper or clay or a real fish bowl/plastic container
  • Gummi fish
  • Spinner or die
To play:

~ Give each child a fishbowl.

~ Spin the spinner or roll the die and put that many fish in your bowl.

Then compare bowls:

My bowl has 3 fish, your bowl has 6 fish. How many more fish do you have?

Or multiplication: My bowl has 3 fish yours has 3 fish together we have? 2x3=6
