I'm always on the lookout for educational and enjoyable things to do with my grandchildren. Hot Off the Press has a new craft club for girls ages 7-12 that fits the bill. Each month, your girl will receive a kit containing 2 projects complete with the supplies needed and complete instructions and photos.

I have my granddaughter read through the instructions completely before she begins so she has an understanding of the steps involved. We talk about the steps and then she completes the projects on her own. I'm there to help if needed. We chat, she tells me stories, it's a good time together. For a girl with 4 brothers, it's a special time.

What I like most about the kits is the quality of supplies. This isn't a kids kit from the toy store. The kits have grown up projects with top quality supplies. Girls learn crafting skills they will use later in life and will help improve hand-eye coordination. Reading and following the instructions will increase their reading comprehension skills. The kits also offer other suggestions for the projects to allow girls to use their own creativity and not feel tied to the pictured project.
