Arbor Day National Poster Contest

Trees are Terrific...and Energy Wise!:

This years theme is designed to increase your students' knowledge of how trees produce and conserve energy. The Arbor Day National Poster Contest is co-sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota!

Deadline:

The deadline for the contest is different for each state and each state has their own coordinator. Check the State Contacts and Deadlines page for the information for your state.

Who Can Participate:

5th grade students across America. Only one winning poster from each club or homeschool association is allowed.

How to Enter:

Request your free copy of the 2005 Arbor Day National Poster Contest Activity Guide. The guide includes activities to teach the importance of trees in producing and conserving energy, lesson plans and hands-on activities. It also includes all the information needed to participate in the poster contest.

Submit the winning poster for your homeschool group to your state coordinator by your state deadline.

Winners are announced on National Arbor Day.

National Prizes:

1st Place:

  • Student, parents, and teacher will receive an expense-paid trip to Nebraska City, Nebraska, and will participate in the National Awards Weekend.
  • $1,000 Savings Bond
  • National Arbor Day Foundation Lifetime Membership
  • Tree planted in their honor
  • Framed copy of artwork
  • Teacher will receive $200
2nd Place:
  • $500 Savings Bond
  • Framed copy of artwork
  • Tree planted in their honor
  • Teacher will receive $100
3rd Place:
  • $250 Savings Bond
  • Framed copy of artwork
  • Tree planted in their honor
  • Teacher will receive $50
Prizes are also awarded at the state level. Contact your state coordinator for more information.
