"Shouldn't you be in School?"

Witty answers for those nagging questions.

By , About.com Guide

"Is today a holiday?" "Did you have half-day today?" How many times have you been faced with these questions while in line at the supermarket? These are pretty tame questions, but they get worse. Here are a few common questions and some witty responses from the Homeschooling Community. Feel free to post your own responses or questions you've faced and are seeking a good reply.

"These questions were brought to me tonight AGAIN. I did my best to answer the questions but Iam a bit sarcastic and I just couldn't come up with anything. I think because it is too close to my heart. I just couldn't think of any thing that good......

The worst part isthat my son is not attached to me, very independent, extremely well behaved and well mannered. People will stop us in the store to tell me how happy my children seem, always smiling. It sometimes confuses me when people just 'know' that our children suffer from being homeschooled. It's like they think that we just lock them in the house and they are not allowed to leave. It drives me crazy...I didn't realize that giving your child a great education in a comfortable setting and making your children happy was considered a form of child abuse to other public school parents....Will they ever get a clue?"- loveofmyboys
