Do You Read to Your Kids?

By September 30, 2013

Follow me on:

Boy Girl ReadingA new study in Britain this month suggests that bedtime stories may be a dying tradition, as parents find themselves too busy or too tired to adhere to the old routines.

That's a shame, because reading aloud is one of the most powerful ways to help kids learn to read -- and learn to enjoy books.

Even when children have their own read-along apps, sharing a story aloud together is a great bonding tool for families. My children enjoyed having books read to them right into their teens. And we still listen to audiobooks on long car trips.
