Some days you just don't feel like your kids are getting any learning done. But as a friend in my local homeschool group once wisely said, Kids are never NOT learning. You can't stop 'em!
Memorizing facts is one kind of learning that all kids have to do at one time or another. But not all education fits so neatly into that model. Kids are also gathering information about how the world works every time they watch us go about our daily tasks, interact with other people themselves, and observe their environment.
I know that for some new homeschooling parents and kids -- particularly those who are coming from a traditional school setting -- anything that isn't "desk work" just doesn't feel like it counts. Let me assure you that it does. But if it makes you feel better, here are some easy ways to add learning to your day without adding extra work. Take a look and see if you can't come up with a few as well -- I'd love to hear your suggestions!
