I’ve never officially named our school, so I think that will be one of our first projects this year.
Thank you for submitting this post to the CoH hosted at The Homeschool Cafe!
We have been at this homeschooling thing for three years now. I think it’s high time we gave ourselves a name:)
We just named our homeschool last week– Willow Tree Academy. It’s named after the beautiful willow tree in our back yard. I just started a new blog, but there’s not much to it yet! willowtreeacademy.blogspot.com

This is the beginning of our third year homeschooling. We named our school last year, JAMS Academy. The first three letters are the first initial of my daughters names and the last initial is for our last name. The kids have chosen blue, green, and silver for our school colors.
We’re planning on making school ID’s this year.
We named ours the first year we started homeschooling to give my son an identity and to help transition him from public to home school. Our name is Life Science Academy and relates to the fact that everything we are learning directly relates to life with an emphasis on science (my son’s favorite subject). It sounds very exclusive (which it is).
Great names! Ours is Haas Academy of Academic Study/ies..H.A.A.S.
Which sounds better! Let me know. Thanks. BTW we would like to use Black and Gold (Pittsburgh colors)if we can.
We have three girls and my husband’s name is Andrew, so our school always been St. Andrew’s School for Girls. Someone once asked where our kids went to school, and in times of not wanting to explain homeschooling we answered with “St. Andrews”. The person was so excited because his son also went to St. Andrews! Opps…….. Our mascot is our lab, Henry and our colors are light blue and brown.
I named our school for the purpose of high school transcripts only. I use Transcript Pro to produce a high school transcript for my children, and having a school name just makes it look more professional.
We are a multiracial family and we come in a rainbow of colors so it was an easy step to name our school Rainbow Family Christian Homeschool. This has stuck with us for 12 years and we will graduate our first one this year. We have printed labels and I have qualified for some neat discounts all because we have an “official”name!
Great names! Ours is Haas Academy of Academic
