Join in the fun this Saturday, June 25th, by venturing outdoors for the 6th annual Great American Backyard Campout sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation. Rather you pitch your tent in your backyard or just sleep out under the stars, this is a great opportunity for making some family memories. Make sure to turn the automatic sprinklers off for the night...a lesson I learned the hard way.
Don't forget your Camping Printables. Lisa Hallett Taylor, About.com Guide to Pool & Patio, offers plenty of tips in this get-your-outdoor-space-ready checklist. The About.com Camping site has basic camping information that will help you get started. So pitch your tents and have fun!

Great idea, however, I live in TEXAS. There will be no camping in 100 degree weather. Sorry! I’m allergic to sweat. I camp in WINTER and parts of our brief fall and spring… depending on if it is below 70 degrees or not.
I’ve always wanted to camp on the back 40, but prefer to do in a camper rather than a tent as I get older. I’m new to blogging but homeschooled 6 for 25 years. We’re writing true character-building books about a child growing up in the wilderness. We’ll have a sample very short story available free very soon. Thanks for having a blog!
It came upon us quicker than I thought this summer. I was hoping our family would be camping at a site up north in Michigan with the inlaws. Hopefully we will be camping in their backyard instead.
