This is great news – another step forward for homeschooling.

Now, the same recognition from private entities such as private colleges and universities would really be icing on the cake.

According to my mother-in-law (who lied to my husband in order to talk him into homeschooling so he could not enter the military), this was the case 15 years ago. . . However, he found out the hard way when he heard her bragging to her friend on the phone that she “didn’t have to worry about her son joining the military” because he couldn’t with his home school certificate. . . Long story short, he had to get a GED in order to enlist. So much for MIL’s evil scheme– bwahahahaha!! X:-)
In my opinion, assuming all state regulations are being followed in the curiculum. (which, by the way, MIL wasn’t doing in the first place), it’s about time that these diplomas were recognized by the state–.
