I made this Christmas Tree Craft many years ago when I was in the 4th grade in 1965 (yes, that's a picture of me). It's the only thing I have from my elementary school years.Follow these illustrated step-by-step instructions to make a Christmas Tree Craft with your own kids.

Another idea is to have the children (at least 7-8 or older) prick the back side with a pin–it gives a soft, raised texture to the right side. This works with bunnies at Easter too.
